I need help with a pelican....?

So I just about hit a pelican on the road the other night and when I was driving on that same road the next night I saw that pelican again and I think it is hurt or something and I don't want to let it suffer if I can help it. So does anyone know if there is anything I can do. I don't want it to stab me with it's beak but I don't want to just leave it there. So any suggestions on what I can do?
