it was set in china and it was about a girl who was 12 or so and it was about something to with the goverment coming in and killing them or taking away there stuff and the girl's dad was taken as a prisoner and he was like the best doctor or surgeon in china and he was only realesed to do surgery on the mayor or something. And dhe got caught and was put in a dungeon while trying to see him but got out. And the gaurds like made her and her neighbors in the apartment watch them kill one of there neighbors and i can't remember if in the end they escaped to san fran sisco or not and that had been her fathers dream because he had friends there he also had mugs and pictures and trinkets from sanfran.help please if i don't no i'll go crazy!!!!!!!!
