What are the growth stages of cantaloupes?
They sprout, then gradually grow..pretty quick..as the vine out they then send tendrils out to either grasp a trellis or to grasp ahold of ground coverage for strength against the wind..eventually they will flower out , the first flowers for about 2 weeks will be male only ..you can tell them for they will be on long stems, then eventually female flowers appear which will be growing out not on long stems like the male flowers but right next to a main stem which will have a small bulb right behingd the flower then the small cantaloupes appear..they grow to ripen when they become a golden yellow color..then you pick them approx 60 to 75 days depending on variety
